Welcome to Five Directions Press
Why five directions? Eurasian cosmology regards the center as a fifth direction that harmonizes north, south, east, and west. As a writers’ cooperative dedicated to producing and sharing high-quality books of many genres, we blend our diverse interests into a harmonious whole, a goal reflected in the image of the five directions.
Turns out we are not the only writers who came up with the cooperative idea. Triskele Books, a UK-based authors' collective, is hosting an interview with us on their blog (and answering our questions). They have some great books, too, so take a look.
From now until January 2, 2014, the e-book versions of The Golden Lynx and The Not Exactly Scarlet Pimpernel
will be available for $2.99, 40–50% off the regular price. European and
UK prices are based on the US price, so will be reduced accordingly.
The Kindle Matchbook price for both novels is 99 cents. If you have bought the print version, I thank you profoundly. You have more than earned a deep discount on the e-book!Happy holidays to all our readers—and remember, books make wonderful gifts. The Golden Lynx, in particular, should be a big hit with the Hunger Games fans on your list. Nasan is almost as good with a bow as Katniss, and her swordsmanship is much better. She even shoots from horseback.
And for those not enthralled with teenage archers, Five Directions Press will release the e-book version of Seeking Sophia in December 2013:
As she struggles to rebuild her life and make peace with her past, Kleio clings to advice discovered in a fortune cookie: “Plant a tree. Build a house. Raise a child. Write a book. Wisdom streams from these endeavors.”
Wisdom. In the language of Kleio’s grandparents, Sophia—which is also the name of the abandoned child whose adoption may hold the key that unlocks, for Kleio, the true meaning of life.
But old habits die hard. Can Kleio find the strength to commit the ultimate rebellion: putting down roots?
Five Directions Press also announces that The Golden Lynx appears on the 2013 Summer Reading List for Swarthmore College, one of the nation's top liberal arts colleges, and was chosen as a Featured Author Group Read by Historical Fictionistas, a Goodreads group, in March 2013. We hope to release The Winged Horse, the first sequel to The Golden Lynx, in print and e-book editions in the spring of 2014.
